Ishasha Wilderness Camp

Ishasha Wilderness Camp.
This Ishasha wilderness camp is located in the southern sector of the park. This facility has large twin bedded tents, situated in the wooded area facing the Ntungwe River.

Elephants can often be seen coming to quench their thirst. Each tent is self contained and there is also a central dining area provides a comfortable environment for meals and an outdoor lounge area besides the river.

MWEYA INSTITUTE OF ECOLOGY:
The Mweya institute of Ecology often referred to as the Mweya hostel offers low- mid range accommodation. It is located not very far from the Mweya Safari lodge.

The hostel has both single and double rooms with communal bathroom facilities and a self contained & self catering guest house capable of accommodating 4-6 people. The Hostel also has a canteen and restaurant close to the visitor rooms where visitors can order for their meals

Kitandara Hippo Hill CampThis is a newly established tourist facility in the buffer zone of Queen Elizabeth National Park-Katwe town is a located on a hill overlooking Kitako and Kabazimu Islands and surrounded by Lake Edward, Katwe salt Lake and Munyanyange crater Lakes.

The Camp presently has 10 luxury tents with private toilets and hot showers. All tents are well furnished to ensure comfort for all. Jacana safari lodge is a luxurious beautiful lodge located on the out skirts of the park between the rolling hills and a tranquil crater lake. This lodge has got a number of visitor facilities which include: a swimming pool, sauna, and public areas (including various decks, a well stocked restaurant and bar, a floating pontoon where visitors can have a meal in the middle of the Crater Lake.

Katwe Salt Works Uganda

VISIT TO KATWE SALT WORKS
It’s fascinating to see how since the 14 century, salt has been mined by traditional methods and it is still in use today. The salt mine have been sub divided and distributed to various tribes in Uganda.

Lake Katwe is famous for its salt and it’s acknowledged to be Uganda’s ancient industry. Salt is got from the lake by use of desertion beds and the process is still carried on up to date.

Ishasha sector is famously known for its Tree climbling lions which is a unique attraction and is one of the highlights of visiting this park. At the southern sector of the park Lions can be seen hanging on large fig trees while Uganda Kob graze in the Ishasha plains.

Queen Elizabeth National Park hosts over 500 bird species. Expect to see at least 200 bird species just on a two day visit such as the African fish eagle, martial eagle, papyrus gonolek, African Skimmer among others.
