Day 1: Collection from Kampala or Entebbe – Journey to Bwindi

The Guide/Driver will arrive at your chosen location in Kampala or Entebbe at 7:00 am. After explaining your tour details, travel toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park begins. Several breaks occur during travel including at equator crossing for photos. Lunch happens in Mbarara ideally at Igongo Cultural Centre. Although lengthy, nature lovers observing fresh locations will feel greatly impressed by surrounding terrain. Western Uganda boasts incredible views, wildlife parks, mountains and volcanic remains. Watch for beautiful lakes, rivers and locals tending gardens while traveling. Notice the Long-horned Ankole cattle and ask to pause at roadside markets sampling fresh local fruits. Stay alert passing through the attractive hills around Kabale and Kisoro.

Day 2: Gorilla safaris at Bwindi – Travel to Lake Bunyonyi for evening relaxation

Rise early for breakfast while waiting for Guide transportation to park headquarters for required briefing at 7:30am. The orientation covers essential information about the park, animal life and naturally the mountain gorillas. You’ll receive gorilla family assignment based on physical condition. Following orientation, groups head toward different locations depending on assigned gorilla family. Heavy equipment carriers can hire porter assistance for about $15. Gorilla safaris through Bwindi forest might take between 30 minutes to 5 hours depending on your assigned group. While trekking, you’ll encounter rich tropical forest with amazing biological diversity. Watch for smaller primates, birds and plant varieties.
Regulations allow only one hour with gorillas. Use this time observing their behaviors carefully. Follow all gorilla safari guidelines including maintaining 7 meters distance from nearest primate. Never attempt touching any gorilla – particularly baby gorillas avoiding alarming the powerful Silverback. Maintain calmness always. Once your primate interaction time concludes, guides lead back to starting location offering participation certificate. Your driver returns you to accommodation for relaxation, lunch and departure preparations. After collecting belongings, transportation to Lake Bunyonyi follows for evening unwinding.

Day 3: Habitat Walks, Water Activities, Boating and Island Visits at lake Bunyonyi – Return drive to Kampala.

If arriving late previously, morning reveals amazing scenery, lovely sunrise, birds and spectacular lake views. Request outdoor breakfast service enjoying lake panoramas. Lake Bunyonyi ranks among Uganda’s premier tourist destinations primarily for its scenery alone. Numerous activities remain available including, bird watching, habitat walks, cave discovery, cycling adventures, local community visits, nearby forest exploration and primate observation.
Most popular activities include boating, exploring various islands and simple lakeside relaxation. When choosing boating and island exploration, remember visiting punishment island. Approximately 80 years past, unmarried pregnant girls faced abandonment there. Many found quiet rescue eventually from their partners or single men unable to afford marriage payments. After completing chosen activities, staff guides back to accommodation for checkout before beginning return travel to Kampala.
