3 Days Wildlife Safari Tour to Murchison Falls represents a top selection for tourists visiting Uganda. Murchison Falls National Park ranks among the finest destinations for your Uganda Wildlife Tour. This three-day Uganda safari provides sufficient time to witness all attractions within this magnificent national park – including opportunities to view four of the big 5 (The fifth awaits at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary on your path to the park). The Murchison Falls National Park originated as a reserve in 1926 and currently extends across 3800 square kilometers. The park gains its name from the Murchison falls that runs through separating the area into two sections – The southern and northern banks.
The Murchison Falls drops through a 45m wall after forcing through an 8m narrow gorge. This creates powerful sounds and colorful rainbow effects from water spray. In the 1970’s, Uganda’s notorious leader Idi Amin Dada tried renaming the park to Kabarega falls national park, but the title Murchison falls returned after his removal from power. The park stands possibly as Uganda’s greatest due to its location and concentration of Africa’s celebrated wildlife. Visitors can spot approximately 76 mammal varieties which include elephants, lions, leopards, Nile crocodiles, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, baboons and various antelope kinds. Tourists also discover over 400 bird types and different reptiles like monitor lizards and rock pythons. The landscape throughout the park features primarily Savannah grasslands though forests exist including Budongo famous for chimpanzee tours.
